2016 was also the time for a halfway-point progress report on your transformation programme. How is the New Way going? The New Way is a three-year programme launched in July 2014. The programme is led by our employees. It resulted in eight specific initiatives (or workstreams) and four key words, the 4S’s: Security, Simplicity, Speed and Substance. Its objective is to make Ipsos the preferred partner in its clients’ transformation, as its tagline says, to be “Game Changers”. For two years, we have been investing heavily in the New Services. We have also been adapting our working methods and operational capabilities to increase data use and usefulness. We have high quality and very committed teams. Their professionalism means that they know how to adapt to the changes in our business. We know that it is no longer enough to produce data through polls or from social networks. They must, more importantly, be integrated and made operational so that it can be used by our clients for the sole purpose of acting and evaluating. We are optimistic about our business because nothing replaces information. The challenge today is not only to collect it, but also to sort, select and analyse it. When we developed the New Way programme, we decided that three fundamental points would not change. The first is that Ipsos operates globally. The second is that Ipsos is a specialised group offering unique services. The third is that Ipsos is an independent group. With the creation in 2016 of Ipsos Partners, we changed our control structure, guaranteeing our independence. This is essential when you are producing information because it means we have all of the neutrality and objectivity that our clients require. How do you see 2017? We are convinced that through the success of the New Way programme and the development of New Services, we have the skills, the human and financial resources and the will to continue our progress and to continue to assert ourselves as a global, qualified and credible actor in the research, analysis and formatting of accurate, clear and relevant data and knowledge. In 2017, we will continue our efforts and investments in this third year of the New Way programme. And we are more confident than ever in the success of our transformation programme. We are preparing a new plan for 2018-2020. The plan that we will present is a plan for profitable growth. We are going to fully mobilise all of our company’s resources, be they financial, scientific or human. Our shared objective is to continue to provide the best service to our clients because that is what ensures that they remain loyal to us. Ipsos - Highlights 2016 3
